Water level on Lake Asbury (Lower & Big) Lake continues to drop. South Lake (Upper) Lake and Lake Ryan remain at near normal levels. We must keep the LA West Valve open do to the uncertainty of the hurricane. Current models of the hurricane’s path still keep it near Jacksonville.
The hurricane is now hitting the Bahamas with heavy rain and winds of 185 MPH. LAMSBD has to error on the safe side. We need to have Lake Asbury ready to handle potential flood water from South Lake Asbury, Lake Ryan and the watershed, before releasing safely into Black Creek.
