Wednesday morning, a flood inundation study will be initiated by engineers hired by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Dam Safety Division. The Inundation study identifies where a flood will occur, how quick and how deep.
There is no cost to LAMSBD. The study is funded by a FEMA Grant of approximately $60,000. The study will take approximately 4 days to complete.
Lake residents will see a boat on Lake Asbury and South Lake Asbury and a kayak or canoe on Lake Ryan without a LALLOA sticker.
The completed flood inundation study will be a significant part of the new Lake Asbury Emergency Action Plan (EAP) that will be finalized late this year.
