Lake Lot Owners
In planning for possible impacts from Hurricane Ian, the process to lower the water level in all three lakes has begun. If you have watercraft not on a lift, you may want to consider removing before the water level drops. Also, reminder that lower water levels can impact your irrigation systems and pumps, please plan accordingly.
One silver lining in lowering the lakes is that it will provide us an opportunity to remove shoreline vegetation that has been exposed by the drawdown.
It is possible based on the severity or duration of the storm, that excess rainfall and storm water runoff may replenish the water level, and not allow for vegetation removal. If it is possible, it is recommended that we do not remove Eelgrass, but instead focus on Water Hyacinth, Water Lettuce and Southern Naiad.
